Utility Canvascore

Cookies on this site

What we store in your browser, what we do not, and how to refuse.

A cookie is a small piece of text a site asks your browser to keep. Some cookies are essential to remember a choice you just made. Others try to count visits. This page says which we use. The fuller picture of names and emails is on the privacy note.

What we use

We set, or ask your browser to keep, the following.

NamePurposeDurationProvider
utility-canvascore-cookie-consentRemembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies so the banner can stay downUntil you clear site data, typically treated as one yearUtility Canvascore (stored as localStorage in your browser)
hosting session (if any)May be set by the host to keep the connection stableSession or as the host documentsThe organisation that serves this domain

We do not presently load a third-party analytics cookie. If that changes, this table will name the cookie before it is switched on, and the banner will treat it as optional.

Essential and optional

Remembering your accept or reject choice is essential to running the banner fairly. Counting visits would be optional. Refusing optional cookies does not close the studies, the journal, or the form. The form still sends. The pages still open.

Third parties

Fonts are requested from Google Fonts when a page loads. That request may allow Google to see your IP address. It is not a cookie we set. You can block third-party requests in your browser; headings may then fall back to the serif already on your machine.

We do not place advertising cookies. We do not allow a social network to drop a pixel through this site.

How to refuse or clear

Use Reject on the banner. That stores rejected under the same key and still lets you read every page. You may also clear stored data for utility-canvascore.click in your browser settings, or use the browser’s cookie and site-data controls. After clearing, the banner will appear again.

Blocking all storage may mean the banner returns on every visit. That is inconvenient; it is not a lock on the foyer.

Duration and contact

The consent record lasts until you remove it. Questions: info@utility-canvascore.click, or the address and telephone on the contact page.
